Counselling that helps you

understand yourself more deeply and move through life with more clarity, confidence, and ease.

About

You might already understand parts of yourself, but something still doesn’t fully make sense.

You notice your reactions, your emotions, your thoughts—but in the moment, they still take over, or you find yourself responding in ways that don’t align with who you want to be. It can be frustrating to keep circling the same experiences without knowing how to move through them.

My work focuses on helping you understand what’s happening beneath the surface, so that your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours begin to feel more coherent and true to who you want to be. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we explore the patterns shaping your experience, how your nervous system responds, and how past experiences continue to influence you.

As this becomes clearer, something shifts. There is often less effort, less internal conflict, and a growing sense of space within your experience, where new responses become possible.

I’m a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s in Clinical Social Work, and I offer a space that is grounded, attentive, and collaborative, where you can explore your experience directly, without any pressure to change it, and where change often follows from understanding.

Approach

Sessions are guided by careful attention to what is happening in your experience. We progress by staying with what is present; what you notice, what feels difficult to remain with, and how you respond when bringing your attention to various ideas and sensations. This allows us to work directly with your experience, rather than just talk about it.

At times, we focus on specific areas such as core beliefs, emotional responses, or patterns in relationships. At other times, the work is simply to understand things more clearly. The direction is shaped collaboratively, based on what feels most relevant and useful to you.

We may also step back and look at the broader context of your life, your relationships, work, environment, and physical health, so that what you’re experiencing isn’t understood in isolation. This often brings clarity to patterns that don’t make sense when viewed on their own.

My approach is informed by attachment theory, psychodynamic insight, parts work, somatic awareness, and mindfulness-based practices. I draw from cognitive and trauma-focused approaches, such as working with core beliefs and integrating elements inspired by EMDR, without following a rigid model.

I work with people grieving the end of relationships, navigating patterns that feel difficult to change, experiencing anxiety, or noticing the impact of stress in the body and mind. This includes individuals living with chronic pain or illness, where the relationship between physical and emotional experience can be complex and often misunderstood, including those in queer and non-traditional relational contexts.

Some people come in with a clear sense of what they want to work on. For others, it’s less defined, it may be a general sense that something isn’t working, or a desire to understand themselves more deeply. We can take time to discover what feels most relevant and meaningful to explore, and allow the work to develop from there.
